GENERAL

What is Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival?
It is a Malaysian community project that bring artists together in collaboration with The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac). It is free for all with 300 events spread over 48 hours in the various forms of arts such as music, theatre, film, dance and more!

When and where is Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival
It is on August 20 & 21 (10am – 10pm) in klpac.

Who can attend Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival?
Everyone! Come with your families, friends, and neighbours!

TICKETING

Do I need to buy tickets for Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival?
No, the event is free admission.

How do I get tickets to the Gala Night?
The Gala Night tickets are free-for-all, but in limited quantities. Find out here on how to get tickets.

Are the workshops free of charge too?
Yes! Bring your friends and family along and have a great weekend out!

How do I sign up for the workshops?
It’s best to sign-up before hand as the workshops have limited space and is catered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Find out more about it here.

GETTING THERE

How do I get to klpac via public transport?
The most direct form of public transport to klpac is the KTM Komuter. Sentul Park, where klpac is located, is directly served by the adjacent Sentul Komuter Station and klpac is a short walk away from the Station’s entrance to the park.

The Star Line Sentul (ST10) LRT station is 10 minutes away by taxi.

By Rapid KL bus, the closest landmark is the KFC, Batu 3, Jalan Ipoh bus stop.

Are there shuttle services provided?

Yes. There will be to-and-fro shuttles provided at Sentul Timur, KTM Sentul, LRT Sentul, Sentul Park Guardhouse (at the entrance to Jalan Strachan) and klpac. The service begins at 9:30am and ends at 10pm, with pick-up intervals of 30 minutes. The last shuttle out of klpac is 10:00pm.

How do I identify a shuttle?

YSDAF shuttles will have a poster or placard at the front of the vehicle indicating “YSDAF”. Do keep a look out.

Is parking available?
Yes, outdoor parking is available. It is free of charge, but limited spaces are available.

Is klpac disabled friendly?
Yes. The venue is equipped with disabled parking and access via wheelchair to Pentas 1, Pentas 2 and disabled-friendly toilets. There are also wheelchair friendly seats available at Pentas 1.

Are there ATMs at the festival?
No, there are no ATMs available at the festival grounds. It is best if you bring enough cash to purchase food and drinks at our F&B stalls.

Are there Surau(s) at klpac?
Yes there are. Suraus are available for both male and female right by the respected rest rooms located within the grounds of klpac on the ground floor nearby The Resource Centre and Security Counter.

Are nursing rooms available?
While we are not equipped with a designated nursing room, mothers may head to the sick bay / holding room at Level 2. If in need of assistance, do look out for any of the Festival Secretariat on the festival grounds.

As this Festival take place outdoors and indoors, should I be worried about the weather condition?
We do recommend for you to bring your own umbrella or raincoat as the weather pattern is unpredictable. If it is not a heavy rain with lightning, most outdoor performances will be carried out accordingly. Some may be shifted into indoor locations or be given a replacement slot. However, please be advised that dependent on the timing, certain acts may have to be canceled entirely.

What can’t I bring to Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival?
No drugs, knives, weapons, or anything deemed harmful to the festival.

Is photography and videography allowed at Yayasan Sime Darby Festival?
Yes! We also encourage you to take more pictures and upload them on your social media accounts with the hashtag #YSDAF. However, flash photography and heavy equipment are not allowed in theatre halls such as Pentas 1 and 2.

Will there be food at Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival?
Yes, there will be food for purchase at the festival. There are also three restaurants located within Sentul Park:

IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

What do I do in case of an emergency evacuation?

Should any incident that warrant an evacuation from the Festival ground, alarm bells will be sounded and it will be announced via the PA system. All activities should be stopped immediately and you are advise to calmly go to the nearest exit and proceed to Sentul Park as the emergency gathering point. Please avoid going to your vehicle and leave the premise because this will cause unnecessary congestion and will delay emergency rescue services i.e. fire engine, ambulance, police etc from reaching the Festival ground in the shortest time possible.

If you do need any assistance during the evacuation, please do not hesitate to speak to any of the fire wardens consisting of the Festival Secretariat.

How do I recognize the Festival Secretariat?

The Festival Secretariat will be dressed in the official YSDAF 2016 T-shirt. Besides, they will also have an identification tag.

Is there medical assistance standby in case of emergency?

Yes, personnel from St John Ambulans will be providing first aid care in case of any medical emergency. On top of that, there will be an ambulance being stationed at the festival grounds.

WALK TO THE FUTURE

What is the Walk to the Future Parade?
Walk to the Future is a commissioned project with Saito Fashion School @ Saito College for the Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival. The students were tasked to design costumes based on the theme Future which will be paraded on the first day of the festival finale.

Can I join this parade?

Of course! The parade will commence on the 20 August at 10:30AM along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.

What should I bring?

We advise you to put on a good and comfortable pair of shoes as the walk will be approximately 1.5 KM long. Do bring along some sunblock too.

To make the parade a fun-filled one, we encourage you to bring hand percussions of all sorts. It could be plastic bottles, Milo tins, maracas, tambourines and anything else that will liven up the party!
