Founded in 2006, Balletbase is an amateur contemporary ballet company based in the Klang Valley. They feature works from local and international choreographers and a small shifting group of dancers with classical ballet training.
Balletbase has also achieved international acclaim, with its appearance at Singapore Dance Week 2010 and PASTAKOM in Indonesia, in 2008.
Performance title: The Corridor
A site-specific project exploring our connections with objects, buildings, space, nature, breath and other beings, ‘The Corridor’, choreographed by Low Ming Yam is a group contemporary dance work which mirrors the angles of architecture in the positions and movements of its dancers. First performed at Dancing in Place 2016 at Rimbun Dahan, ‘The Corridor’ evolves to suit its site, and to respond to new surrounding structures and audiences.
