The Odissi Workshop will be a fun and interactive introduction to the beauty and lyrical dance form of Odissi. The participants will be taught the temple sculpture poses of the Thribangi and Chauka, learn the Talas (beats) and a short Odissi phrase of the instruments will be introduced to create a rhythm sequence between groups.
Michelle Jueney performed ballet since the age of 8 and continued her dance journey at Sutra Dance Theatre. In 2013, Michelle was nominated by Professor Alkis Raftis and became the first Malaysian to become a member of Counceil International de la Danseuse (CID) UNESCO.
Pre-registered participants must turn up 15 mins before the workshop commencement time. Failing which, allocated space will be released accordingly without prior notice.
