The Starry Night presents a dreamlike, fantasy space where they shuttle between the stars – touching, feeling and playing in the night. A wonderful night.
This is a brand new piece created for YSDAF 2023 where they are combining installation art with a Diabolo performance using their own creations of light diabolo props. By exploring a different way to present a diabolo piece, it looks at expanding the art form and bringing you a new experience and a new night.
About the Artiste / Group
DiAbolution was founded by Ryn Mah in April 2018 who is also its Artistic Director. DiAbolution aims to bring the traditional diabolo culture into the Malaysia performing arts and explore the possibilities of diabolo and Chinese culture beyond conventional practice.
Recently, Ryn Mah started to invent his own light props to be used in conjunction with his diabolo performances. By adding new elements and technology, he is able to bring this traditional art form to modern times.
In 2019, Diabolution presented ‘DiAbolution 0.1’ 《鈴 • 藝》– Malaysia’s first local diabolo theatre production, held in Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC).
