Disability Access

From festival assistance to wheelchair services, here are some useful information with regards to disability access at the festival.

Disabled Parking

There are designated lots for disabled persons near the main drive thru. Due to expected high traffic flow, we recommend that you arrange to be dropped off at the drive thru. #YSDAF2018 Festival Ambassadors will be on standby at the drive thru to provide assistance.

Wheelchair Access

From the main drive thru, wheelchair users will be able to wheel themselves into the Centre independently. There is a concrete pathway leading into the Centre’s Ground Floor Lobby, and lift access is available from the Ground Floor up to the 2nd Floor. The 3rd Floor is not accessible via wheelchairs.

Wheelchair accessible locations indoor include the Ground Floor Lobby, Pentas 2 Foyer, Pentas 2 theatre (first row of seats), Pentas 1 theatre (first row of seats), Studio 1, Studio 2, indicine, Backstage Bar, and the Sick Bay. Wheelchair-accessible washrooms are located on the Ground Floor.

Interpreter Services

Two sign language interpreters will be stationed at the Information Counter at the Ground Floor lobby.

Assist

Festival Secretariats

All Festival Secretariats will be wearing purple YSDAF t-shirts and tags throughout the festival. Festival Secretariats working at the front-of-house will have basic training in wheelchair handling, guiding the blind and basic sign language.

We also have at least 10 Festival Ambassadors who will provide assistance to disabled persons throughout the festival grounds.

ARRIVE EARLY

Do come early when there is less of a crowd.

MAKE IT A GROUP OUTING

Do come with your friends or family who can assist you at the festival.

SEEK ASSISTANCE

When you arrive, head to the Information Counter at the Ground Floor Lobby to pick up a Festival Guidebook. If you need any additional assistance, approach any Festival Secretariats, who will be wearing purple YSDAF t-shirts and tags throughout the festival.

PACK YOUR ESSENTIALS

You know yourself best – pack things that are important to you, like your personal medication in case of emergencies .
