Birdian Saxophone Quartet (BSQ) was founded in 2000 by saxophonist Ian Chan Wing Hang, who has been leading the group ever since. Based in Kuala Lumpur, the quartet regularly performs a wide-ranging repertoire ranging from light classics, jazz standards, folk tunes to popular and film music at charity and community events, band camps and festivals.

Specially for their performance at YSDAF 2018, The Birdian Saxophone Quartet has expanded into an ensemble. Featuring 8 saxophonists led by founder Ian Chan Wing Hang, the Birdian Saxophone Ensemble will be entertaining festival go-ers with a varied programming comprising classical and popular music.
