Kyoto Protocol

Elmina

9.00 pm - 9.30 pm

Main Stage

Not to be mistaken for the members of Greenpeace, Kyoto Protocol is a rare story of the underdog.

This was a rock band that started out doing covers in the Kuala Lumpur pub circuit and managed to breakthrough with sheer determination. eventually opening up for their heroes such as The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie and Tenacious D in their home country. They progressed to doing their own tours in Malaysia and eventually Asia, building a loyal fanbase along the way.

About the Artiste / Group

The band’s most recent studio album, ‘The Pen is Mightier’, was received with aplomb, with their single ‘The End’ peaking at number 31 on the Spotify Top 50 Viral Tracks and the album getting picked as one of Bandwagon’s ‘Best Releases of 2018’.

In 2019, the band celebrated their 10th anniversary marking the milestone with a one-of-a-kind concert cum rockumentary which was released in 2020 alongside the bands maiden live album, ‘TEN’. Following this, the band has been releasing new music with 3 original singles in 2021 and 2022. In 2024, they released a new single and has big plans for 2025.
