Kaki Keltik will bring to YSDAF a medley of traditional and contemporary tunes from Ireland and its surrounding regions using folk instruments!
Listen to the lively tunes created for dancing and cheer – jigs, reels, hornpipes… you’ll get to experience the jolly atmosphere of Irish pubs and celebrations, where you can clap, hop, and skip around to the beat!
The slower, melodious waltz tunes however, can transport you to the beautiful windy fields of Éire.
To bring you home, they will serve up a specially-arranged Malay tune in a traditional Irish tempo – whether you’d like to joget or jig around, it is up to you!
About the Artiste / Group
Named after the Malay word “kaki” (enthusiast) and a local twist on “Celtic,” Kaki Keltik is a Kuala Lumpur–based instrumental folk group bringing traditional Irish and Celtic tunes to life with the concertina, fiddle, wooden flute, bodhrán, and more.
Beyond performing, they host open Celtic jam sessions around the Klang Valley, welcoming fellow music lovers to join in and keep the folk spirit alive.
Past performances include St. Patrick’s Day with the Embassy of Ireland, the King’s Birthday 2024 by the British High Commission, and the Klang River Festival 2023.
