The Lawn @ EV Arena

Somnus (6.30 pm – 11.00 pm) by Wee Jia Foong
There’s a quiet beauty in the city after hours — when streetlights glow over empty roads, warehouse lamps flicker above silent floors, and scattered windows shine like distant beacons in the dark. These lights, meant for no one, keep watch while everything else sleeps. In their hush, they feel alive, like companions softening the loneliness of night. They seem to become something softer when no one is around — they make empty streets feel less cold and being alone feel less lonely.

This installation draws inspiration from that shift in mood: subtle, ambient, and gently industrial. Light spills over a raw framework, softening rigid lines and cold metal into warm shadows and quiet planes of glow. Visitors move through this skeletal space much like they might wander late-night streets — where silence hums with unseen life and the harshness of steel and concrete turns tender.

Rooted in solitary walks through sleeping cities, this work offers a pause — a chance to stand still and notice how light can hold a place when the city drifts into sleep. It invites us to linger inside the hush, to find comfort in the scattered glow that remains when the city exhales and emptiness fills with calm. Here, the temporary becomes gentle, the industrial becomes soft, and solitude feels a little less alone.

Somnus – Audio Visual Performance (9 pm – 9:30 pm) by Wee Jia Foong & euseng seto
The installation will be accompanied by a live ambient electronica performance by the artist and producer-composer euseng seto, merging light and sound into an intimate audio-visual experience. Strobe lighting effects will be used during the performance.

About the Artiste / Group

euseng seto
euseng seto, also known as Flica, is a producer and composer emerging from the electronic depths of Kuala Lumpur in 2007. His illustrious body of work, a sonic treasure trove, has piqued the curiosity of listeners far beyond the insular scene. His debut album, Windwane & Window, a whimsical offering of electronica, was a veritable masterpiece that garnered international recognition and acclaim, and led to the release of his sophomore album, Nocturnal, through Tokyo-based label Schole Records.

With the release of his third album, Telepathy Dreams, Flica casts aside the saccharine sentimentality of his earlier work, opting instead for somber atmospherics. This new direction propelled him to the forefront of the ambient scene, cementing his place as a mainstay. A tour through Europe, China, and Japan proved to be a pivotal moment in his sonic journey, where he collaborated with bassist Kent Lee, resulting in an explosion of improvisational live looping that set him on a new trajectory of sound and ideas.

Since 2020, Flica has unfurled a litany of tracks on streaming platforms, following a year spent studying sound engineering in London. He has since devoted himself fully to the art of music production, a master of his craft. A decade’s worth of experience has taught Flica how to best convey melancholy – with simplicity and is a force to be reckoned with in the world of music.
