The Filters Live at YSDAF 2025
Elmina
6.00 pm - 6.30 pm
Main Stage
An independent fractional math rock band, The Filters is known for their tenacious onstage presence. Nominated for Best New Asian Act at the NME Awards 2022, they were the second Malaysian group to be featured on Audiotree Worldwide.
In spite of their aspirations to spread new thought-provoking music to our generation’s masses, they still hold true to their humble beginnings as a local home-grown band.
The band launched their debut album Exhaler in 2021.
About the Artiste / Group
The Filters is a fractional math rock outfit hailing from KualaLumpur, Malaysia. Officially formed in 2013, the band was co-founded by Ian Francis Khoo and Aiman Shakirin, then joined by fellow school brass band mate, Reuben Ravi.
The completion of their line-up happened with the addition of Iain Chan, after having attended the same college in Audio Engineering.
