About the Artiste / Group
Incorporated in 1958, The Philharmonic Society of Selangor is the oldest performing arts society in Malaysia. The choir is the most active arm of the Society and over the past 67 years has staged at least one performance annually, ranging from classical to contemporary. A stand-out feature about the choir is that it is made up entirely of volunteers who come from all walks of life, aspiring towards building a community in harmony.
As a community-based Society, apart from promoting the love of music in the community, The Phil also makes it an objective to contribute to charitable organisations within the community. Over the past six decades, proceeds from productions have been donated to many charitable organisations around Malaysia.
