Handpan was created in Switzerland at the beginning of the 21st century. It is mainly made of carbon steel or stainless steel and has only been 23 years since debut, and its sound is soft and warm, which makes people feel calm, peaceful and healing.
Handpan has the characteristics of many others musical instruments in one, players can compose with and play percussion, melody, harmonic and other different skills on handpan at the same time, but also according to the differences of various scales and their own music style, create unique music works.
The player can choose the scale of the instrument itself when ordering the handpan, such as major, minor, harmonic minor etc., in addition to more clearly know the feeling of playing the instrument, but also greatly reduce the difficulty of playing and composing, very suitable for friends without music foundation as a musical instrument on the road of entry.
In this workshop, we will give a brief introduction to handpans and focus on learning how to use the correct muscle inertia to produce sound, while also sharing how to play handpans using different composition techniques and musical styles.
